I had a Banana Yellow 87' Tercel. Not a single mosquito was alive in the neighborhood 😂
My brother’s girlfriend had a copper penny colored Tercel. Nothing but problems but the color was neat.
they were also called 'turtles' 😊
I was a Service Manager for GST, and we all called them "TerdCell".
The 4th and 5th generation Tercels had a better reputation than the 3rd Generation ones, sometimes referred to as Sexy Tercels. Before the Yaris, at least where I live, the follow-up to the Tercel was the Echo.

Got a 1994 Toyota Tercel it was the cheapest car sold in North America. But the echo came after the 1999 Tercel than eventually the Yaris. My 1994 on smog test is 1 of 99 hydro carbon at 15 and at 25 it's 2 of of 99 been reffed by the state many times but it always passes the tuffest tests. Must be the fact I only use Toyota parts literally bought the last few parts for tunes up and keep them in garage. Cheapest car but one of my favorites it's 4 speed and I put the lsd out of the starlett from Japan and it burns tire till 35mph
This was my first car and it never let me down on the road! I want another one, hopefully I’ll get it.
