There is still the BIG problem of disposing of the nuclear waste from nuke plants.
The reason that the thorium/sodium reactor wasn't developed is because they don't produce plutonium. The nuclear reactors of today are meant for one thing only, and that is to produce plutonium, the electricity they produce is a byproduct. Thorium/sodium reactors are safe, they can't melt down, they can't explode, there is very little waste, there is much more thorium than uranium, and thorium contains much more energy than uranium. But the day is coming if the people are allowed to have access to the technology that you'll buy a car, it will be electric, but it will have an energy machine that will never need fuel, and will never run down, and you'll drive the car until the wheels fall off. It would be the same for homes, they will have a microwave oven sized device that will produce the energy for a home for 100 years. This is one reason why we need to take back our government and return it to the people, the powers that be don't want people to be united, free, and prosperous.
