A little off the subject, but what is that red car in the background?
On my old car the closed circuit trap got jammed. It broke. I had the trap removed. here in the North we barely use that functionality except for very hot summer days and still, a good AC system doesn’t need that. Turned out that it was either removing the trap or replacing the evaporator for $3,000 CDN. I chose the first… I used my car on very hot days this summer and it was still plenty cold.
Way back in my high school days one of my friends drove a 1976 Ford LTD. That thing had a huge A/C compressor and it could get so cold that you could see your breath inside the car on a 95 degree day. Now that's air conditioning.

Rainman ray woulda put new ac line valves in………..but he keeps a stock of em in his shop. I would request that with a car that old…….but thats me.

I have 2 different clients that have an impala. One is a 2014 and the other is a 2016. Both have been nightmares, but more so the 2016. At under 50k miles ball joints, compressor, radio, and transmission has all had to be replaced along with other repairs. The 2014 has also had a transmission replaced at around 80k miles.
