Keep doing it the wrong way Pete. No short cuts in body work period. Thanks for the post.
Bingo on the corporations telling you what you need. It's big time bad in the woodworking industry. It's amazing anything got built before all the "gotta have it" doo dads that you need to cut a piece of wood. How about learning to use your hands and mind. It's practically free.
Can you please post a video when you complete the 65 GTO paint job as viewers wold love to see it. I think this is a convertible, no? I think this is a particularly beautiful model.
‘They’ can be annoying as hell
Enjoy watching your videos been doing body work for 40 years now
If that shit starts cracking on me, I'm gonna shove it up Corporate's Ass.
Its easy to see that he knows what he is doing, through years of trial and error but I'm sure he's not a red seal certified auto body technician nor a trained certified auto body teacher. One of the 1st things I learned at school was that Bondo is a brand name and is incorrect to call it or refer to it as body-filler. whenever you grind to bare metal than weld onto that metal you have 1st wax and grease remover – to remove any contaminates spray on weld through primer- to prevent rust eventually forming on the welds, which I have not seen him ever do that. That goes without saying that some products are crap and others good its easy enough to look up online. The metal crap is a bad because its brittle so it shatters the other is good because it hard yet flexible under impact. One episode where he welded then used a watered-sponge to cool it down to prevent warping the panel that's called quenching – its when you suddenly cool the metal fast after it's been heated up causing it to shrink. heat makes things expand-warp, cold makes things contract-shrink.
My advice if you want to learn properly go to a good school even if you don't eventually get into the business its a great learning experience especially for young people. A novice is not going to be able to do all the prep steps to lead up to paint. This show is great for experienced people who already know and understand what he's demonstrating.
to loud boot camp lol!
Lol pete u crack me the fuck up
Lmfao fuck those dumb motherfuckers they wouldn't know what to do at a real body shop
