I ones borrowed my Brother's BMW and on my way to return it, I filled up the tank and also decided to stop by a Chain-Mech-Oil to take advantage of the $35 Special.
When I got the bill was for $195.00 I asked; "What did you do?" They said 'oil change😁
I Asked; What about the special?
Mech; Is a BMW😁
Me; Did you have to do any special, extra labor?
Mech; no😁… is a BMW😁🤲
My wife took a 2009 toyota Corolla in for a squeeky idler pully. They quoted her 2800.00 to fix everything.
580.00 for the idler pulley. No belt altenator just the pulley (40.00 part)
When I got on the phone and started asking questions the male mechanic got pissed I called him out and hung up.
Another current scam is having a female run the phones and front desk deal with female customers. It's a trust thing.
Thanks Scotty for advocating for us and just being honest.
Your knowledge is solid.
Who would you dislike a video showing how not to get scammed
I had no idea Dennis Hopper was doing YouTube videos now, especially since he died 10 years ago! Anyway, great video, Dennis! See ya! 😉
In this time we have things we didn't have when chain shops started, internet and social media. Why this kind of business model still exist?
I stopped going to Mavis Tire after hearing they "serviced" the stretch limo that crashed in Schoharie, NY killing 19 people. Yeah the limo owner was irresponsible for driving that old junker, but Mavis invoiced them for a brake job that was never done and gave them a passing state inspection within weeks of the crash. Limo crashed when the brakes failed.
I wish i had a 4Runner like this
