"…that the guys at Firestone couldn't figure out." No surprise there. The last time I took my van to Firestone, the knucklehead who worked on it cross-threaded one of the lug nuts and ran it on with excessive impact wrench torque. I discovered it weeks later, when I tried to remove the wheel. Ended up having the cut the nut apart with a cold chisel.

Another local Firestone store deliberately tore the wiper blades on my daughter's car so it wouldn't pass the state inspection, and then tried to sell her new ones for $30 apiece. I know they tore the blades, because I inspected them before she took the car there.

Both of these incidents occurred over 15 years ago. I've never taken my car to a Firestone store again. Period.

I wish I could find legit mechanics around here. I can repair most but not all stuff. Would be nice to have a reliable mechanic just cause.
