But my car has a carburetor.
How come honda v6s just idle at 700 rpm from a cold start? My dad's 07 odyssey, friends 14 and 22 mdx does it.

Modern cars idle at high rpm so they warm up the catalyst faster and produce cleaner exhaust fumes. It’s a feature and shouldn’t be messed with, or the environmentalists will start wining again.
So why is carbon such a huge issue??? When in doubt, floor it till the stink goes away
