People who own Bentleys dont give a crap what Scotty says and probably never heard of him. They dont associate with low lifes!! If I had the money I would buy a Bentley and I could afford the repairs if they ever break. Many people in entertainment and sports own them. They could care less what Scotty says. Scotty is biased. For Scottys stupid viewers, look up what the word biased means.

I don't know about that downshifting thing. Sure, if you drive it like a race car, you're gonna break stuff way before it's time, but if I'm driving normally, slowing down, and I shift from 4th to 3rd, feel a little deceleration when I release the clutch, and the RPM jumps from 2000 to 2500? Nah, it's fine. The clutch is made for shifting. Automatic transmissions used to be a rarity in my country not that long ago, everyone drove manuals, and basically the only ones that needed clutches replaces were owned by old grandmas who did this: Clutch, 1st gear, 6000 RPM, then SLOWLY release the clutch.

Scotty, depends on how you downshift. If you let the clutch pedal out gently to drag the engine engine RPM's up then yes, you are putting extra wear and tear on it. If you are capable of heel and toe braking, you are matching the engine RPM's to the correct gear speed and therefore not slipping the clutch and not creating extra wear and tear. I have done it for years and I have never had to replace a clutch, even on a truck that I had from new and sold with over 150K on the odometer, and it still didn't need a new clutch.

Scotty, why is there no more plain – jane vehicles anymore? Manual windows are a thing of the past I guess. Are we just getting lazier by the decades? I had an 02 Ranger 4 banger, 5 speed. It couldn't get out of it's own way but when I bought it but it never left me stranded. I bought it slightly used 16 years ago,, it only had 25,000 miles on it. I drove the heck out of it.. just got rid of it a few years ago and it had 170,000 miles with only 1 rebuilt tyranny. Not bad. The only thing I didn't like was when I found out it had an electric thermostat… What and why ? It's a 4 banger.. Just Ford being Ford I guess. Love the videos.
