Lol good thing I just bought a 2016 Camry 4cyl with a VVT-I.
Scotty, honey, I the cat didn't eat her dinner again.
You cant go wrong with a Honda dude
The recalled CVT in the corolla hatchbacks (2019-2020?) are different.. I'm speaking from vague memory, but it has a dedicated launch gear to cope with the lag issues on a typical CVT.. The ones on the uhm.. 14-18? year have a service campaign unrelated to the hatchbacks recall.
Agreed! 2014 Corolla was the worst cvt trans I ever drove.
My 2015 Corolla LE has 110,000 miles on it, and so far no issues. Just got the recall notice a few months back . Took it in to Concord Toyota in the SF bay area, and they said that after testing, nothing needs to be replaced. Just the software update needed to be done. Don’t know if I totally trust them on that, but so far so good. I think I’m trying too hard to “keep an eye out” for anything that seems weird with transmission, ? but can’t detect anything so far. Keeping my fingers crossed. If I get another 100,000 miles without a problem, I’ll be happy.
Other than that the car’s had ZERO issues, except for a crunching noise coming from the front suspension when I go over bumps, that’s been there, since the car had around 45K miles. The dealer couldn’t identify the problem, and it does not practically affect anything, other than being a minor annoyance, so I’ve just learned to ignore it.
Rev up your engine because it wont be going nowhere with with a broken CVT?????
Hey Scottie.. just to let you know, they had a recall on my 2014 Corolla also, i think its for 2014-2017. They didnt announced it as “recall” but they said its an update for something. It was twice, last year and this this. Maybe a fix for a fix.
Toyota the recall company lol
