GMC Sierra best pickup!
3 days ago – "This f150 has a big problem!"
Mr.scotty is right about the Dodge ram. It does sucks gas like some whores. Gas hoggs are hos on wheels. You pay it in a hour or two hours to fill the gas up. My truck is old school. 1999 year.
Great analysis.
Best IMHO is the GMC 2500/3500 diesel with the Allison trans.
Their engine (Duramax) is actually built by Isuzu and is a great, highly refined (since 2003)work engine that should easily go 400k without any problems. The truck interior will probably be a bit rattling after all those miles, but an equivalent Ford Powerstroke will need to be rebuilt around 300k, and the frame will be weak after even 250k..
Don't bother with their gas engines as they've become problematic in the last few years.
F150 is not a truck.. It's a SUV without half of the roof. Why not step up and get the F250/350 along with the V8 or Diesel?
Not all Dodge Ram trucks are junk. I have a 1992 with a Cummins and a manual transmission, it's been the most reliable truck next to my 1969 Dodge D300 with its 440 engine.
Looking at it from a bigger picture, IT'S A RIDE! Someone or nature could easily ruin or damage it without you looking. Whatever is cheap won't matter if it's scratched or dented or likewise. As long as it runs, it's a ride.
I have a 2004 model F-150 pickup truck and love it so far. I got it in 2008 and have driven it sparingly until recently where it has been my primary vehicle. I also have a Ford Explorer (1999 model) and a Ford Escape (2007 model) and they worked just fine. I drove the 1999 Explorer from Arkansas to Michigan in 2015 back and didn't have any problems with the vehicle other than sliding off the freeway with it, but it didn't turn over. I will probably keep that vehicle for the rest of my life due to it's service record.
I think he got the list backwards
Iv had my 08 ram 1500 with a 4 inch lift and 30 tires has 136k eats no oil, leaks no fluid. Changed a window switch and upper ball joints because I tore them while offroading It's a truck so done care about gas mileage. It's my daily because I'll trust it more than any other truck or sedan any day.
