What year did they switch from belts to chains?
I really like the working room under the hood compared to the F150 which SUCKS to do the plugs&coils on….I might even go Chevy/GMC since anything I buy has to be 20 years or older (no vehicle tax in an area with an otherwise insane mill rate….you pay more than the vehicles worth in a couple years) but all I've found is high mileage, overpriced barely rolling junk.
Frame rot & 3 tons of bondo at 280k but "I know what I have, it's a great work truck capable of another 500k. I don't want to sell it to you because how you pointed out the flaws."

Seriously, I've gotten quite a few of those. If you point out what's wrong with the truck the seller gets all insulted & tells you to leave before you make an offer🤣🤣🤣🤣

"Cut off the tailgate" wouldn't be bragging about that, son

I was between Silverado off the lot and a 2016 tundra 65k mi. After talking dozen ppl it was an easy decision, took the tundra.

Did Scotty just give me permission to put a supercharger on my Tundra?

My favorite pickup is a Ssangyong Musso Sport. You know why? I had a business in Senegal and drove about 40.000 miles in 3 years before I sold it (still running). Equipped with a 2.9 liter 5 cylinder turbocharged diesel it can officially pull 7.5 tons incl its weight. It's a licensed Mercedes engine. I had a range of easily 1000 km on a tank filling wich is 80 liters under very hard conditions and fully loaded. I did extremely tough offroading including desert type conditions and in the jungle. Sometimes no roads just riverbeds. We put in a higher suspension in the back for 25cm more clearance and when fully loaded the trailoer hitch touched the road sometimes. It was really wild and I praise the lord for giving me this experience. You cannot imagine the road conditions over there and it never let me down. And the mechanics always could fix it because it is so simple. Btw I am a petrolhead myself, that is why I love your show.

I'd love to own an early Toyota pickup, but I simply cannot afford the upfront cost of one. It almost makes more sense to just buy a new one. My 2006 Chevy car may not last as long as a Toyota, but at least I can get them for dirt cheap, and fix minor parts for cheap too.

The best truck ever made is not buy one
