That's the old AMC 258 six derived from the 1960's 232. They're a 7 main bearing low output engine.
    Last forever.

I actually own a similar car 1998 Grand Cherokee Limted Inline 6. it runs perfectly fine except for on startup it hesitates until u stop cranking it then it starts instantly the 2nd time my dads gonna change the fuel filter to see if that fixes it if not that prop the pump it ran outta fuel a few times because the fuel gauge no longer works overall a nice car though

Scotty you're the man. From one born and bred Tennessee boy to a transplanted one. You should have moved to East Tennessee not the west where all the Hollywood pukes are in Nashville and Memphis is worse due to its demographics if you know what I mean… It's not that I'm bashful and can't say the words it's YouTube so the truth can't be spoken

I have a 2010 Honda Insight as well, it's still going well but I do realize that the IMA system is complex, the CVT transmission is complex, if anything is to happen to my car it'll be tough or expensive to fix it

What code did you get from the CEL?

We had a '93 jeep with the same 4.0 in it. I hear they last a long time.
