It's sad what happened to Nissan (Datsun). They used to be number 2 in Japan until the great recession of 1989 put a hurtin' on Japan. If not for that, the Japanese would have taken over the world economically. And how did Renault get the juice to buy Nissan? Should have never happened and wouldn't have happened if Nissan hadn't been crippled by said recession. Even Mazda had to be bailed out (by Ford). Toyota and Honda rose to the top like cream and are still there today.

Corporate average fuel mileage (CAFE) laws are meaningless. Luxury car makers have been getting around them for a long time. The ample profit margins they enjoy allow them to absorb the penalty payments… Or more likely: pass it on to the foolish consumer.

Government says they want to go green but give the USPS contract, to replace all the vehicles, to Oshkosh (80% gas) instead of Workhorse (all EV).. that's politics for you.

Hearing about the whole emissions things happen, made me sad knowing they’re killing cars that way 😭😭😭

Scotty we have to do whatever it takes to put an end to excessive emissions. Washington state doesn't require emissions testing and the result is brutal. I don't have a car and walk everywhere breathing in all the ridiculous fumes from these 70s-90s vehicles. Not to mention some of the worst offenders relatively newer vehicles that just have one bad sensor or some other simple problem that they don't understand and aren't required to do anything about. They just keep putting gas in it even though they're only getting about 8 miles per gallon. Emissions from vehicles and airplanes is a catostrophic issue
