So which would you prefer? A Good looking car with so-so reliability or an butt ugly car with great reliability? I know people that buy cars because they like the brand. Even though they know there are more reliable brands, they like what they like.

It's a club .. we have no dues but we share ..we are car mechanics. Everyone is to some degree right ? So it's over. In a few years the gas engine will be history. Electric wheel bikes go as fast as you pay for no driver's license… No insurance no registration. No DUI pullovers. No hot grease in your eye at three a.m. fighting off a fuel
Pump that quits when it gets hot. No more $1.98 ballast resistor we charge $800 for no more electric pums cooled by gas in the gas tank meaning when empty it melts down and yer tank is a gaseous 200 pound bomb. Boom. It's over. All those nights wifey won't touch you till you shower that greasy stinky mess off ya. No more million gallon oil spills and eco disasters. No more mechanics. Just electric motors and batteries. Belgium has an anti grav car. And physical therapy floats quadriplegics around in antigrav chambers. So the next wave after electric with n batteries but tesla towers broadcasting electricity . And natural gas. It can be transferred radiostatically …to the moon if necessary. There is so much more going on. When I was in hi school our little group if scientific demolays formed Rocky Mountain Technology Roy Whitman was our CEO and we had a nasa contract and a $1/4 M in the bank but we also had antigravity. Soon men in black visited twice. And then Roy was dead. So I could not more go into a gvt facility and talk antigrav than I would play with hand grenades. Well it's all changing. Dino-fart technology has helped and hampered man's progress. Now it's holding us back as there is a $550 Trillion dollar reserve left to fleece the sheep ….Bah Bah ! MFs

If yer going on a yer second 50 years you know most of us were raised on the big three Chevy Ford and Chrysler. Which meant you carried around couple hundred pounds of tools as we got older. A simple wrench and screwdriver fixed about everyrhing . Then as I got older I went from glove box tools to a craftsman carry box. Then after 25-30 a roller chest top box and air shocks for all the weight. Then we had to double our arsenal to metric sizing on everyrhing. Then companies started making special head fasteners and the electronics and sensors alone can run thousands to keep going. Till we are so top heavy with restrictions and gadgets we forgot it was just a conveyance from A to B… Till so many models and different parts and specialty oils and planned obsolescence is painting itself right into a corner…..today's mechanic is an electric tech. Might as well go electric anyway ?

Every ecotec 2.2 i have owned has had upwards of 300K and I've had over 3 cars do it. Engines and drivetrains just as solid. Cobalts are superior to Cavaliers in build and interior. Anyone who's had engine or drive train issues has abused maintenance schedules.
