    My experience differs….

My 2007 Camry Hybrid was meticulously maintained according to all recommended procedures and then some.  It ran great up to 102K miles then began having multiple failures.

My hybrid battery failed at 102K miles just out of 100K warranty.  No help from Toyota. Price from dealers for repair varied from $5000 – $7000 with 1 year warranty on replacement battery.  Third party repair was ~$3000 with 3 year warranty on replacement battery.  At 120K miles VSC failed.  Dealer explained it could only be fixed by the dealer and wanted $4000 to fix VSC.  Independent mechanic fixed it for 1/2 what the dealer wanted.  My repairs since 100K miles would have exceed the value of the car if repairs were done by Toyota.

My cost of ownership for the hybrid has far exceeded Toyota's claims and far more than any other car I have owned including non-hybrid Toyota's.  All of the routine maintenance was higher than all of my previous vehicle due to special fluids, frequency, and complexity of the maintenance.  In many cased the maintenance could only be done by the dealer at much higher costs than independent mechanics.

At no time was my Toyota Camry warranted to 10 years as is claimed here.  Low maintenance cost for hybrid is a MYTH!

I would stay away from cars with Low mileage that are more than a 5 years old…..because they've been Sitting….sitting kills ANY CAR….including prius…and their batteries. Higher mileage cars are usually LESS of a gamble, because they've been driven, maintained, batteries get Cycled on a regular basis… and there's likely no Problems with them, that's why the owner Kept driving it!

around $1000 for maintaining , ill buy 2 cars with that money every year ,$250 ok for a year due
