I totally understand that the best way to repair rusted rocker panels or fenders is using welding and patching the hole area with the new sheet metal. But if you can not afford to spend several hundred dollars for that job this is the cheapest approach on how to fix rust holes on your car, truck or van, even if it’s temporary(rust will eventually come back).
!!! USEFUL TIP: Let the vehicle sit for 1-2 days after you cut the foam. This will prevent cracks in body filler due to foam shrinkage !!!

Tinder is better than grinder……?
How long do you think that would last?
Very good job! I like!
What about car wash and stiff ? Will it get damage?
You're a genius! This is absolutely brilliant. Thanks for making a job I have to do a lot easier!
I think your "hawk" job may last longer than you think due to a pretty decent support base (that's the key). I'm going to use this method on an old rusted-out pickup tailgate just as an experiment. I've had a lot of experience with that foam and have a lot of respect for it. We've used it to do miracle things in construction but I never thought of this application. Thanks
