The airbag sensor is under the seat. If that gets wet DO NOT START YOUR CAR. The airbag might deploy.

Also, if the water gets up to the bottom of the dashboard, the state of Texas will not allow that vehicle to be registered, insured, or driven on public roads EVER AGAIN.

If you ever plan on buying a flood damaged car it can't be new. The newer ones have to many electrical parts and although they might still work they start to corrode and eventually they'll go bad.

Scotty you forgot something. Water can/will also get inside breathers for differentials, transmissions, transfer cases, and vacuum hubs. All need to be drained and refilled in a flooded car that has sat for any appreciable time in water.

Hey Scotty. I bought a Mitsubishi and when I got home it started knocking real bad. I thought I would change the fluids and then I seen the oil pan had glue where the bolt drainer was, so I’m guessing the fluids haven’t been changed in a long time. I bought a new oil pan today, but I was wondering. If I bought new rod bearings and cleaned the roughness on the rods. Is it possible that it’s savable? It’s definitely a spin rod. Just curious if I should try and change the bearings
