Here’s a few tips on repairing rust holes in car body panels.
In this video im showing you the process I use to do small rust repairs where a complete panel is not needed.

My names Matt Urch and I own and run Urchfab welding and fabrication.
I specialise in custom automotive fabrication from building roll cages to complete one off builds.
I built the worlds most unique and oldest drift car known as the drift rod which can be found on my channel.
So if your into grinding, welding, fabricating, drifting, going fast etc, your in the right place!

Would the patch still look wavy if you would have painted. I'm talking about the waviness from the grinder

ok , heres todays tip for ya ,,, measure the size of the bad bit ,,,, add half inch all round , cut out repair patch ,,, then put it over the rusty bit ,,, cut round it , and lo and behold ,, patch fits hole with a perfict 1 mm gap ,,,, if you only want half mm gap , cut two sides , depress the bit your cutting out , butt patch up tight to two sides , then trim down the other two sides with a laser cutting disc , ,,, perfect half mm gap all round and patch fits ,,,,,,

nice job I used expanding foam to fill the holes so the filler had something to sit on one time LOL I repaired big rust holes in the seat pan of a motorbike one time it was almost gone fifty pence size holes I used an arc welder turned down very low with light guage rods I knocked the flux of a few rods and used them as filler wire like when tig welding . it worked well and lasted for years after being painted with lowe rust off red oxide paint it wasn't pretty but nobody see it but me . as the old saying goes you can only piss with the prick you have . this tip might help someone on some jobs ? probably not ideal for car body work but with a bit of practice on bits of scrap cars who knows what can be done if you don't have a mig welder and you have an arc welder and the will do get it done .
