How to repair cracked paint on your car. diy auto body, auto body repair

In this video I will start by masking off the the trim and window so they don’t get damaged during the paint removal. Because of the cracking in the paint we will remove the paint down to the bare metal using a orbital sander and 80 grit sandpaper. We will then clean and prime with a 2k automotive primer creating a solid surface for the new paint. Using a guide coat to show any low areas or rough primer we will sand the primer first using 320 sandpaper then 600 for the final sanding. After remasking the roof it is cleaned with prep solvent and tacked off with a tack cloth. After this we will apply 3 coats of paint tacking off between coat. then applying 3 coats of urethane clear!
