Hmmmm .. I am debating on doing this. Car is kaput, so in the end, worst thing I can do is break it more right? Mine is sealed tightly closed. Like with RtV or rubber.

Very nice approach,the earth grounding connections of the pcb to the metal box are making poor contact and thats all is what it faults.

the solder is not burned out it is squashed due to the casing screws and is ok,it doesn't need soldering ,if you knew how to do it you would have put flux on the board,all you have done is to show how not to do it
