Tools and Materials:
Large Grinder/Sander: Sioux 5290 7″ Vertical Sander w/ 36 or 40 grit fiber resin disc
Sand blaster: Speed Blaster – Gravity Feed Media Blaster
Sand:
Fiberglass Cloth: Bondo brand fiberglass cloth #2
Resin: Bondo Fiberglass Resin
Green filler: Bondo Glass
Regular filler:
DA sander:
Primer: Autobody Master lacquer primer from local Auto Value parts store

    Well, I'm glad my (unintentional) winter project has taken longer than expected and has yet to be painted. Our nemesis, CAR CANCER!!!, strikes again; rust bubbles formed and penetrated the primer in some spots.

    Also, I had one spot on the roof crack. I ground it out with a Dremel, added Bondo Glass, and then a slather of Bondo Body Filler. I believe the crack was from hosing down the car when it was outside after a surprise snow.

    Let's hope it goes better this time around.

    When doing a repair similar to this one what is the recommended layers or a comfortable amount of layers and is the fiberglass cloth your using better that the stranded cloth or is that just personal preference.. thank you

    wouldnt the rust on the backside just eat everything through again? you would have to neutralize/convert it right?

    Fiberglass in your hand is going to suck unless your one of those persons that are immune.

    I was wondering I have heard if I use fiberglass resin on the bare metal like that it will rust is that true or am I safe to do just that thank you 😊
