How To Put BONDO/Body Filler On A Primer Surface – DIY LIVE!
#diy #restoration #car
This is the only way to apply bondo to a primer surface of any kind. You have to prep it right using a very coarse grit sand paper so the bondo or body filler such as polyester finish putty will adhere and stick to the damaged area. Once the bondo is dried you can continue to hand sand using blocks of your choice and repeating your process till the dent is fixed for good. Restoring old cars and trucks is a big job and takes time!

This has become invaluable. I just got my a flip that will require that I fill in just a few spots of hail damage. Now I have an idea of how to do that. Many Thanks Pete.
Thanks for sharing your experience and time dude, keep them videos coming, SUBSCRIBED 😊 JR
My friend Pete putting in the work to make sure it's right… Good job, thanks for the lesson!!!
Only on 80 grit bare metal. Never on paint.
How did i miss this
Really like watching the OG body guys suck as yourself with Great tips on how to save money and do things properly… I had a 1 on 1 teacher train me and i learned so much! But I never actually got into the flexible primers and additives to primers/sealers, base, and clears
Is this epoxy primer or urethane primer?
And wouldn't you wanna sand over the putty with a 120 or 150 Grit after initially breaking it down with an 80/100 grit… Then finish off with a 180~220 Grit before re-priming the hood, so that way the scratches dont reappear with shrinkage over time…
Im assuming you do go over with a finer grit in its finishing stage before re-priming or use a good primer that has virtually no shrinkage… The Clausen All-U-Need polyester Primer alot recommend over body filler before using a final Urethane Primer… But just would like to know what Polyester and urethane Primers you use…
And one other question, what is out there for flexible Primer Sealers out of a can fir Plastic Bumpers and that sorts… I use the Seymour PBE Flexible Primer or SEM Flexible Primer Surfacer, but im trying to find a sealer out of a can that is good for Flexible plastics…
Any recommendations on Flexible Primer Sealers?
