Do you have to recover the old refrigerant into a recovery tank ?

    "Inches of mercury" lol

At 9:18 "there is refrigerant in this line and there is air in this line…" There is also oil in that line if you are adding oil per earlier instructions when replacing parts. This oil will be blown out of the line by this purge procedure. Also please use the proper A/C oil if you are needing to add oil and not vacuum pump oil as shown. And please charge the system with the can top in the UP position instead of the top down position as top down can slug the compressor and end badly.

Did you evacuate your system at a professional shop before this video? Or did that vacuum you had pull all the old refrigerant and water into it?

Do you have to vacuum the system if you only want to recharge it? No parts were replaced and the system is 16 years old and needs a recharge.
