@screamineagle88 wet sand paper is able to go to a higher grit like 1000-4000 .also wet stand paper last longer than regular sand paper and it creates a very smooth glassy finish, it mostly used as your final sanding before paint.
@screamineagle88 You can sand it dry, BUT–doing so will cause several problems. One–It gets dust and dirt everywhere and you have to wash the car off, and Two-wet sanding actually gives your primer a more precise sanding to a finer grit, to give you a much better quality finish. If you are doing base/clear I recommend wet-if you are doing single stage paint===dry sanding works fine. Pete
