Hi, just a quick question, i noted from other bodyshops that 400grit is their prefered key to colour paint over. Do you agree or should i go finer on my diy repair as you mentioned in your great video? Thanks

all that to take a scratch out of a Chrysler 300? I'd just use some touch up.

Will spray max 2k be ok for use on plastic? I paint goalies masks. My automotive clear coat guy is unavailable. So…will spray max work well on plastic? My prep work is good, and I use wicked water based air brush paint

omfg the dude is sanding with his fingers. Is this the shit they teach kids in the colleges today?

Looks at date of post…Yep the guy is a nut job. Today primers do not need a mechanical bond to "stick" its a chemical body. You can sand to 100000000 grit and the primer will bond to substrate CHEMICALS. They are designed to dissolve a lil of the surface of substrates and chemically bond to them. Its why horror stories of insurance shop paint jobs are about wrong color match or hazy looking after a few car washes and not peeling away now, compared to the 80's and 90's. This dude hasn't a clue of todays insurance job knowledge let alone a custom world. But I bet ya when he's out at the bar shooting the shit he is bragging about how much he knows about body work lol.

who in the sweet honorable fuck taught you to spray through a hole? FFS dude its repairing a cars finish not fucking a cunt. No wonder you have so many steps. You were taught by a complete idiot. And im sure you stole the 3M masking plastic from the shop you work at. other wise you would of used about 1/3 of it as dimes and nickles add up to dollars over a yr or 20.
Also in my experience you have more control with a spray bomb than you do a gun and I have used a shit load of guns. (oddly enough a no name brand gun from a local hardware store that cost me $60 worked better than my $6-8-1200 dollar ones. Wish I had it back)
But anyway continue on with the bs on how much work it takes to fix a clear coat scratch. lol
