The Clear coat was faded and flaking on my $350 Acura Legend, to the point that the paint would have to be sanded and re-painted in some areas.

I'd recommend using a hand trigger for your paint. It's less than $5 at H.D. I use it even for small jobs, but for this one, it would made it so much easier and smoother too. Did you get your money back for that can? That's not acceptable and shipping wouldn't do anymore than shaking it, like when using it. That really f**ked up a lot of good work. Your nutts are bigger than mine; I wouldn't have used it and would have insisted in a refund. You did a great job!

rattle cans are always bad when you got to have a nice finish, and at 30 bucks a can you got hosed.

Typical ebay, amazon junk. Punch holes in the cans and pour it into a sprayer

Are you using solvent or water based color and clear?

There is no tack coat in clear you put on 3 normal coats so it will level out like you did on the bumpers, you were heavier especially on the 2nd coat. And don't paint each individual surface like on the fenders, that's what made them run
