if my brake pedal was squishy, rushing to bleeed my brakes is not something i'd do. i'd first check the fluid level in the reservoir, and look for leaks. if there is none, and the reservoir has not gone down, then i'd bleed the breaks, but if the pedal was still squishy, i'd anticipate needing a new master cylinder… ((which then, again, you'd have to bleed the breaks after installing)) … also, the bleed process — which wheel to do in which order– is different on different cars… and in some can require a special scanner to complete. but hey, all these are just pesky details.

But also watch if your master cylinder is cross diagonal, you'll need to bleed opposite corners in a specific order or air will stay trapped in the system and leave a squishy break pedal. You can tell if there's more than two break lines going out from the master in most cases.
