I used to do all the work on my old track car but i had the space to do it at the time. I took my new car for an MOT and a service, cost me £350. I'm getting rid of the car and using a bike full time.
I don't mind the $100/hr labor, but the 3 or 4 times mark up on parts is just stealing, every service shop in the US does this.
Invest in a washable oiled air filter.
Some oil on the oil filter o ring will make it come off next time super easy.
