Interest in electric vehicles is at an all time high, with sales of new EVs up 55 percent in 2022 compared to the year prior. But there are still a lot of gas cars on the road today and there will be for a long time. EV conversions are becoming a bigger trend that could help. Both the shops and aftermarket community are growing substantially to meet the new demand. CNBC explores what it takes to convert a gas-powered car to an electric vehicle and whether it could go mainstream.

    is there a kit to convert a Hybrid battery to a charging (use a charging station) hybrid battery?

    Why on earth would you convert a long range transport that's quick to refuel, into a short range slow refuel if you can find a charging station transport. That pollutes just as much as it did before

    Hybrid > EV. Until newer models of batteries are out, the Hybrid beats the full electric.

    HAHA no. Mechanics are remarkably overconfident. I am both a mechanic and a full-stack developer. This is not even half as complicated as a normal engine swap…

    If it is so easy. What's ford or GM waiting for? It is much complex than you can image. Even the toyota is below the tech of EVs.
