Could you make reference marks by hinges so you can put it back…like 2 punch marks that will show through new paint…not huge but enough? Just curious, hope all is well pete ,and Minnie
👍👍
Great tip on the door hinges especially Pete. I'm currently restoring our '65 Chevy C10 and left the hinges on the door instead of the pillar but I drilled a tiny holes through the hinges BEFORE I took them off 🙏🏼 I also ordered a "Master Hardware Kit" on line but it'll take 12-18 months to arrive. These days, it doesn't surprise me but I still have a LONG way to go before I even need them.. Thanks for the laughs and entertainment.
Whats the SITUATION!!
Been a really long time since I took a car apart. Last car the bolts where so messed up that most of the bolts got replaced with all new bolts and screws.
Thank you,Pete.
Pete, you are right again as human nature will notice gray primer overspray on a clean black frame and tell ten others, the same is true with fasteners. There is that part also where these are not sealed, so the shank of the bolt is half its original thickness. If they come out (I am sure you have seen dozens) but shocked they unscrewed and felt lucky. New bolts and hardware are easily noticed, if done correctly the viewer has a sense the entire job was done well. It's no difference that having that classic muscle car with 5 different colors of car, hood, doors and interior. It invokes a brief pleasant sensation that turns to jealousy fast. That's it.
People reader, open book! Pete knows every page. Great subject & well done. DK Omaha
I say 500 ci from an old Cadillac…
Awesome video! Appreciate the tips and techniques always 🙏
Pete, I used your method of rustoleium paint and acetone 4/1. I painted my new frame for my 69 camaro. It came out great.
