Guys, I have recently made an updated video of this spotter tool where I show how to build this thing from the ground up and also added some much needed upgrades. Here is the link to that video –
In this video I’ll tell you how I found out about the Spotter welder, what it is and I’ll explain how I built mine using transformers out of microwave ovens. It is basically an electric dent puller that is being used on car auto body. It’s an awesome tool that I’m grateful that I now own. I have no idea how I got by without it all this time. I truly believe that every bodyman should own one and even if you’re not a professional and just getting into doing auto body work as a profession or just a hobby this would make work so much easier and quicker. Don’t even bother with spending your money on old school stud gun, you’ll just be waisting your time, take if from someone that has been there and done that. Hope you guy like the video.

You are connecting AC.
Hot and neutral.
Not positive and negative.

I would like to ask a couple question that I do not see here on the comment section. How many feef of #2 wire do you recommend using for this project? I would also like to ask you what switch is that you use when engaging the spotter? Is this a switch that can be found in the microwave? Also, did you use some type of insulation in-between the transformers so they would not touch each other or does it matter? I would like to give you an update. I have one transformer so far! Two to go ! I am getting more excited! Thank you so much.
