I'm in line with you on your process, I have several vehicles that I use and have gotten them beaten up through the years from everything from door dents at parking lots to car impacts to deer collisions. I got into doing my own work years ago and really learned similar steps to knocking out repairs fast. A person can set around and try to turn their cars into a shop queen but treat the car like a dirty whore on the streets, I get my work done without being worked into being done with my DIY energy. You have to preserve yourself and learn what good enough really means. And stop staring at your work looking for faults, a hundred miles out the door and the work will be dinged up and scratched to hell in no time, conserve your energy in life and remember, it's just f##king paint!
Worse guidance you could receive. air ! Porter Cable has a powerful electric 6" orbital variable speed commercial grade sander. Can sand indefinitely doesn't even get warm as apposed to five minutes and the air compressor's screaming. Had mine over ten years use it every day.
