my only problem with honda crvs are the drivers.
My wife and I both have driven FWD vehicles (Nissan Versa, Honda Accord, Dodge Neon, Nissan Rogue, Chevy Malibu) with snow tires in WI for 11 years with no problems.
It's good to see in America, CRVs got a stick gear selector. In the Philippines, this generation Honda CRV have buttons gear selector.
My mom has a 07 Acura tl that she bought off the show room floor brand new and she still has it. 240,000 miles. Original engine and tranny. Still drives and looks like it’s brand new. The only wear is on the drivers side of the seat. Would absolutely buy a Honda or an Acura any day.

Grandma bought a 2001 Honda CR-V GT, new and maintains it. She has done oil changes, timing, alternator, ignition parts… That's it. Still runs solid, it's such a reliable well Made car she can't justify getting rid of it. I still use it to drive up the mountain to go snowboarding, the awd system has never let me down in a pow day. Still tons of power, which is strange, because buddies feels like a rubber band.
You think higher is better ? no need,really; when i had my Jaguar shop in Jersey,i used to plow the driveway with a XJS , one of the lowest to the ground cars; and this because it had a Posi Rear from factory; good times… 40 years ago…
