There is an old sayin’, “Some times you get the bear and sometimes the bear get’s you.” In the case ogf this van the bear got the owner. He and a friend attempted to DIY their head gaskets on this 2004 Honda Odyssey and unfortunately the crank gear has two marks on. Some of you know where I am going with this…. -Enjoy!

Honestly I'll stick with my 95 camry with a non interference engine.. Interference engines are nothing but problems. Great video btw
Interference engines, great times
RIP valves…
I hope you gave this video to the owner to take to court.
No excuse for this, if someone's confident enough to deal with the HG then surely they ought to know to double check the mechanical timing by turning the engine over by hand a few times and making sure the marks still line up… For the sake of 2 minutes of time this engine could've been a runner, although I have to wonder about the quality of the rest of the work now given that something so simple got overlooked/messed up. I know sh*t happens and people get tired/keen to finish up and hear it run but there's no way you should miss turning the engine by hand when the timing has been disturbed.
I would guess that the cam and crank are not in proper aliement.
I like the dryer duct intake piping.
I heard the cranking sound in the beginning and I realized that this is an expensive mistake made.
As an electrician, I rarely even look at problems when requested by a DIY because of the liability. Probably will not find all the problems but will be held accountable as soon as I walk onto the premises.
Screwed up the cam timing, bent the valves.
