In this video I have a look at a customers 2017 Honda Civic. He replaced his own rear brakes and then after doing so the red brake warning light was on along with the service brake system light and warning alarms going off! He did take it to another shop before bringing it in to us and they told him he needed two new parking brake actuators! Boy that would have been an expensive mistake. Let’s use some logic and figure out what is really wrong with it. -Enjoy!

I like Scotch 33 better. It's a little thinner and stretches a little better than 88. A tip. If you stretch the tape to the very end of the wrap, over time the end of the tape will pull loose and be flapping in the breeze. Do this instead. As you finish wrapping the tape around the connection, leave a few inches not wrapped and cut the tape. Finish wrapping the couple inch piece without stretching it.

Is it just me, or are electronic parking brakes a silly idea? Does everything have to be motorized and computer-controlled nowadays?

I agree with the guy who lost his mind, always cut electrical tape instead of tearing 🙂

15:57 Put the socket on an extension and you can quickly twirl it on, with your finger through the cardboard centre of the roll. Also works well with screwdrivers if you're working at the end of what you're going to be taping, like you are here.

In the old days it was worrying about having extra parts on the floor at the end of the break job. LOL I always had a problem with remembering where all the springs and clips go.
