    old Scotty needs to do his research on Toyota ac systems in 2010 the Corolla used a variable compressor that used a swash plateit would always look like it was running because back in the day with the magnetic type like he was talking about when the compressor was off the front would be stationary when it was on the front would be spinning but on those newer Toyota AC compressors the front is always spinning it's the swash plate inside that either wobbles or stays straight inside the compressor depending on whether you want cold air or not it would use a sensor on the side of the compressor to activate or deactivate the compressorso on those they always look like they are spinning starting I believe in 2009 in the corolla's and up
