Hey Scotty , I have a 2006 Ford Ranger LEVEL II and i'm thinking of replacing my control arm bushings as they are really cracked, is it worth it? or let them be? Also, my truck is equipped with a Torsen limited slip rear differential(T-2R). What do you think of those? and why don't companies offer these anymore?
I'm not sure when you take questions, so I guess i'll just ask a few times.
Having the filter before the pump could theoretically help the pump last longer because it won't be eating dirt, but if it gets clogged then yeah it will make the situation worse. It is true that pumps work better pushing, because suction is limited by atmospheric pressure. Suction is actually just when you lower the pressure on one side of a system, and the ambient or atmosphere pressure pushes the fluid towards the low pressure side. So you are limited to ambient pressure. There's no such thing as negative pressure, you can only go down to zero which is a perfect vacuum.
"…Pumps are more efficient at pushing out than they are at sucking…" ???
