Most gas stations have security sticker seals on cover of pump. I always go in and prepay anyway. Never had money on my windshield YET. I would drive away and get it later if it stayed on.

3rd world scams when you let 3rd world people into the country
It is far too dangerous to go inside to pay cash or use my card for gasoline anywhere near where I live. I only feel safe at Sams Club (35 mile round trip away) or a small local gas station near my home which has only 2 pumps. I try to pull in with only a car or two there or when I will be the only car. When I gas up, I lock my car with my key fob (purse and wallet inside car). I also have my .380 in my pocket or under my jacket and I am very alert to what is going on around me.
