The inside of that SUV is INCREDIBLY SMALL!

Much of what Scotty says is true, the fuel mileage in a 4WD with V8 is not as good at the V6. However, we average 19mpg on typical road trips in Western WA, 14mpg in stop and go traffic in downtown Seattle, 22-24mpg on trips to Eastern WA with our full-time 4WD V8 '05 4Runner that has Goodyear Duratrac tires on it. So say what you want, the V6 doesn't get that much better fuel mileage. The V8 doesn't have to work as hard to pull you, your family, your dog and gear over the mountain pass as well. The secondary air injection pump on the VVT-i ('05+ V8) is placed in a stupid location, but as for the timing belt considering you are supposed to replace a timing belt every 90k miles on these, is it really that much less reliable than a timing chain V6? The V6 is a solid engine, but depending on what you want to do with your 4Runner, the V8 is a very nice engine that gets almost the same fuel mileage as the V6.

That thing would’ve been worth about $9000 here in Alaska if it had 4X4.

The starter and timing belt job on the 4.7 isnt that bad i love the extra power and torque

I live in the city, a scooter will do. But even then my Morini motor does not work as well as a Piaggio or Minarelli.

Work for Toyota as a sales and yes Toyota 4Runner has one of the highest resale value and I had trouble selling a used one because for 4k more you can get a new one. What a solid bullet proof truck!

I'm happy with my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee! It's as reliable as any 4 Runner, gets about the same gas mileage, blows ice cold air, everything works as it should , has cost me virtually nothing in repairs, easy to work on, great OffRoading rig! And, I payed $ 2,000 dollars for her with 154,000 miles!
