Are ther hybrids that have lasted 20 years and/or 1,000,000 km/620,000 miles?

  2. MyIOnU

If I have to choose, I will pick hybrid.

  3. Andrew Meehan

For me, my next car will be a hybrid, but I haven’t decided on PHEV or HEV yet. BEV is still way to expensive and i also live in a colder climate. If Subaru upgrades the range on the PHEV cross trek, that will probably be the first one I try.

Love my Prius Prime. 33,000- 14 tanks gas, go 24 miles now above 60F

You showed a Bolt, not a Volt.

My 2013 Volt has 70K miles, but the engine only has 40K miles. That’s an 8 yr old car with 40K miles on the ICE.

The Volt also has a “Mountain” drive setting that recharges the battery for better performance up and down mountains.

That said, as you have pointed out many times, a plug-in hybrid is too complicated, ie, too much can go wrong.

Someday we will see full electric, but bare-bones cars from China being sold at Walmart or Pep Boys for $5,000.

Our electric power grid is already old, decrepit, and overtaxed. Yep. Electric cars are something we really need. 😂

I have nearly 200k miles on a first generation 2012 Toyota Plug In Prius… first gen tech is always a gamble, but this car has been GREAT! I only have a 7 mile commute, round-trip, so it’s all electric during the week, then hybrid mode for weekend road trips. Great car – still runs, handles, and functions like new.
