Finally I know what's the problem with that shaking. It made me thinking about that for a last couple years. I thought maybe tires, maybe suspension and other stuff. Now I wonder how much it will cost to solve it. You are the Man Scotty! Cheers from Poland. :o)
Soooo, that "juddering," sometimes called "chucking," is a consequence of the torque convertor failing to unlock, true? The engine is lugging because the transmission won't downshift. A quick and dirty test, and a way to overcome the failure to downshift, is to gently apply the brakes, while keeping a steady foot on the gas. That will force the torque convertor to unlock, the transmission will drop down a gear, and the engine will be happy to be up in it's proper rev range. All for the cost of a few brake pad molecules.
Not everyone has over $5000 to buy a used car or SUV. Other car manufacturers make good cars too. Over the years.
