MERRY CHRISTMAS SCOTTY!
Merry Christmas 🎄⛄😇🙏 — Luke 2:1-20 KJV
About forty years ago, a man who owned a "specialty vehicles" business in the area I lived and worked in attended a by invitation only federal government surplus auction. Among the many interesting items up for auction were a number of retired Secret Service vehicles that included nearly thirty Crysler sedans. The man in question purchased four of them for an amount he never disclosed but with a little help from a retired federal employee he discovered that the cars he had purchased were "flankers". In other words, those cars were only lightly armored and had been up-engined to what, for their era of limited production, would be comparable, I guess, to a Hemi today. The suspensions, transmissions, and steering were much, much more durable than standard "mom & pop" four door cars that they outwardly were identical to. From what the buyer could ascertain these cars were not used directly in "presidential convoys" but were used to "clear the path" well ahead of such processions and to run parallel on side streets and roads to create a buffer zone of sorts. All four cars still had the red and blue flashing lights behind the grills and on the back deck and they were fully functional from a dash mounted rocker switch. By state law the buyer could not operate or allow the operation of those four cars on the road with functional "emergency lighting" and was about to have them removed when he was approached by an out of state agency that was looking for just such vehicles for use as protective escorts for the then sitting governor of that state. Through an official request from the interested agency to the PD where I was employed, my Chief agreed to the utilization of two of our radar equipped patrol cars to "clock" those retired flankers. I was operating the second of those patrol cars on a long straight stretch of an old secondary road (an out of service road by the way) and was somewhat stunned when my radar locked two of those cars in at 165mph!!! When the out of state agency satisfied itself that all four cars were what they were looking for, a deal was reached, and the sale completed. The seller, again, never disclosed the sales price, but he and his wife did purchase a VERY nice diesel pusher Class A motorhome a few weeks later. .Merry Christmas and I wish you and yours a safe and Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas and I’ve been in the new Escalade it’s fantastic
I used to own a Cadillac srx. In the winter the door lock froze on the passenger front. And it wont shut correctly. I had to tie it shut with a tow strap and even so it would still open a little when i was driving. Very dissapointed in the build quality
Let's go bradon
Merry christmas scotty!
