Bad rings: straight off the drafting board, or… did they try to repurpose an existing design that USED to work with 5w-30 or heavier oils? Has an aura of… chrysler [cheapness] around it? Very odd.
A quart/quart and a half isn't too bad for 3K-5K for oil consumption. I average a quart every 2K on my Ford (I run synthetic and change my oil every 6K miles) When I was a kid our cars required a quart every 1500 miles…😆
garage54 made a see through glass gas engine and it runs; just uploaded today …
That's a lot less oil that many of the new GM products burn.
I dont understand one thing. When a customer comes to you with a complaint about the car, and still has the opportunity to sell it, but you literally see with your eyes, that he/she wants to keep the car, because they love it, how does it make any sense loosing a loyal customer, instead of fixing the issue in any possible way, and acknowledging your own mistake??? Why such company as volvo cannot accept their mistake??? Why??? Do they understand that after this video, I, personally I myself, will never even think of buying a volvo??? Are they stupid???
I'm waiting for the day when, someone brings Scotty a new Toyota Stout for him to review
Without watching let me guess a few. KIA, Hyundai, Dodge, Chrysler (pretty much anything Fiat Chrysler.
Edit: I was way off. VOLVO
Volvo is Chinese
FYI, preventative maintenance;
I have been using Lucas gas treatment in my 2007 4.6L since it was brand spanking new. Over 115,000 miles now and it still runs like it did in 2006 with 100 miles.
Lucas provides lubrication to the upper cylinders and valves. While not letting carbon build up as much without it.
It does cause the catalytic converter to work harder. So I have do Scotty’s lacquer thinner method at oil changes, half gallon every other oil change.
I buy Lucas by the gallon, it’s to expensive in the tiny bottles. A gallon last a year or so…
