The H3 is an excellent off roader I can verify. They work great in sand dunes

Scotty really isn't much of a deep thinker or student of the history of US industrial policy. Just typical American. Hummer only failed because of the artificially created Oil Crisis at the end of the 2000s. It killed Truck and SUV sales, and that killed the American Automakers which relied almost entirely on Truck and SUV sales as its profit centers. This forced US car makers into bankruptcy and the Govt. filled the boards and executive positions with their picks that would try to transform the companies into Obama's vision of green eco friendly econobox makers that would start building cars as he said "that Americans wanted to buy" like the Japanese were building. Oh but guess what???? When gas prices came down, the stronger foreign brands filled in the vacuum in the market with …wait for it…. SUVs and Crossovers!!! Planned destruction of American manufacturers GM and Chrysler/Dodge. Sounds like Scotty hopes the US brands just becomes Chinese companies. Typical short sighted American he is. Attitudes like his got us to this point. I know the manufacturing philosophies the Japanese employ, but that doesn't mean that the US on a cost basis could compete with the lower cost centers. It maybe that Toyota has highest reliability but on an national industrial policy, Scotty might be all for the destruction of US automakers/ manufacturing. That is the difference between patriotic Japanese who supported their brands, even when they were total crap until their cars began to reach US quality levels.
By protecting their domestic market, it kept Toyota, Honda etc. protected enough to continue Quality improvements until they became world class manufacturers. Americans don't have that kind of patriotism and the American companies have no loyalty to Americans either. But the Japanese would never let their leading automakers just go up in smoke to foreign competition, even when they were crap. They know how important those companies are to their countries.
