    Hi Scotty, I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD with 174,000 miles. I bought it with 169,000 miles and got an oil change at 172,000 just for good measure. I looked these vehicles up and read how they are rated for 26 mpg city and 30+ highway, I took multiple trips, crunched numbers and found I only get 25.3 mpg. This is lower than the rated mpg and I drive it easy to optimize the efficiency. Any thoughts? Perhaps transmission related?

    Started checking oil for that API rating. Amazing that a lot of name brands are not certified. The pennzoil i always used not. Kind of blew me away

    Scotty the m112 is a bulletproof engine, its only costs about 800 bucks to replace in my garage, they are a joy to work on. I wish i could send you cheap oe Mercedes parts, you would change your mind about German Mercedes a lot. But i still agree with you the non germans ones are a pile of junk

    I had a 2013 with a turbo diesel engine and it was a E220 CDI with a stop start system. It had 280.000Km and never did me wrong or went for an overhaul. It only changed a turbo rubber hose and besides the regular maintenance services and that's about it.

    I also don't like stop/start systems for fuel mileage. If it's going to have one then it needs to be controllable by the driver. I remember back in the seventy's in Europe some traffic lights had a countdown clock for the light to turn green so you could shut down engine and restart in time to go on green as they were paying some 4 dollars a gallon in1974
