    Hey Scotty. We have a 2010 sentra ser with a cvt and it will use the transmission to slow the car and if you want the advantage of coasting down a hill all you have to do is rest your foot on the gas pedal and you can feel gravity taking over. I always thought it would be better to use the brakes to slow the car instead of the transmission. But there you have it. Thanks for your help. Trying to keep our vehicles on the road and with your help I will

    What's with everyone and their bad experience with CVT's, I've been driving rough, on a JATCO CVT since 2013 no problems yet geez my gm astra clonked out quicker and it was a manual

    tell me that car doesnt have a low gear select on the gear my grampas 08 v6 has the + – when you just bump the shifter over i'm sure all cars have that and you can down shift come on scotty…

    My 2016 Accord Sport is a CVT…it has shift paddles and I downshift when going down big hills. So, to be clear, it may only be a problem for certain mfrs.
