Pick of the E30 on the thumbnail really hits home. I'm in the process of changing bent valves from a destroyed timing belt, among many other things, on my 92 E30 m20
Don't worry there's always the Nissans before Renault hitched their wagon to them oh what the hell I'm saying I love Nissans regardless
Wow what an intro
Do older American cars! They last longer than new csrs
Still beats all computerized cars and barely being able to work on your own car. Planned obsolescence is real. Manufacturers don't want you working on your own car anymore.
Old is gold
I usually buy cars year btw 95-2004. My grand vitara still runs great for the past 11yrs. I swap the motor 3yrs ago so i know i gotta another 5-8yrs left ?
I have a 1989 Pontiac Bonneville with exactly 99,000 true miles on it. Car came from a Police Precinct in Palm Springs CA. Car was well taken care of and it's the best $500.00 I ever spent on it. I needed a new computer module for it and that part was only $150.00 and it took 10 minutes to replace, now the car drives like a dream. Even the factory radio still works. I think it depends on if the old cars were lemons beforehand and sometimes can become money pits later on. Not all 20+ year old cars are high maintenance. I change the oil, it just goes and floats.
Runs like a clock……realize clocks don’t run…..they roll though ?
AC and exhaust systems last a LOT longer than they used to. You can find a 20-year old car these days with the original exhaust and the AC still works. You were hard pressed to find a 5-year old 1973 Impala or LTD that still had a working AC and didn't have the muffler falling off. Some things have definitely gotten more reliable.
