A few months ago I worked at a local Kia dealership. Only worked there 3 days and in that time we had 5 newer Sportages come back wíth blown motors.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I've driven several Souls (my dad owns one) and never saw a problem with any of them.

Scotty, my 2016 RAV4 XLE (60k miles) is blowing hot air on the driver side and cold air on the passenger side with the A/C running. Pretty unbearable with this 98 degree Missouri weather! Toyota is telling me it would be over $800 just to take it apart to diagnose the problem!

Cripes my 20 year old bmw V8 gets better mileage than that thing!

I will give Kia credit, the new ones are a lot better than the old ones, but for the money I still don't think they're worth it
