I managed the vehicle inventory and lot for a used car lot in Texas for 2 years…. we used to pick up Jeeps at Manheim and GSA for dirt cheap, because after a Jeep is done it's warranty, the value has dropped by 65% to 70% compared to the industry average of 40%. Jeep is THE WORST. We used to keep a few on the lot for customers with the worst credit, so at least we could be honest and tell them that Jeeps are horrible vehicles, and we would pay their down payment instead of lowering the value of the vehicle, which made it easier for them to get financing. When other cash customers or mid-top credit customers wanted to by a Jeep, I told them it was a bad idea and that we kept a few specifically for lower credit customers. If they still insisted on wanting to buy a Jeep, I gave them the keys and told them to drive it for 2 days before committing to the sale. I swear, 90% of them when they returned after 2 days, were like, 'Wow thank you for not letting me buy this Jeep, because it's HORRIBLE!! Now tell me what you recommend.'' and I would put them in something that won't fall apart. The common complaints of the test drivers about Jeep were that it has no power, it corners horribly, it shakes on the highway, it shakes when I brake. It pulls me all over the road (due to the weak front end), it shifts like a tractor, it's loud, the interior feels like it's going to break, the speakers are trash, the seats are not comfortable, the electronics are glitchy, it rattles like an old bus, the visibility is bad, it burns too much fuel, it feels very unsafe, it burns oil, i smell coolant, it leaded fluids in my driveway/garage, the AC is not cold, the heat doesn't push enough air to keep the windshield from fogging up in the rain, the headlights suck, and other issues. It's unreal. NEVER BUY A JEEP!!!

Those older Jeep’s were different build quality like 80’s and 90’s.
wife just bought 2021 jeep grand cherokee last year of a model that ran like 10years or more hoping they got the bugs out of that one at least but gotta say it's one of the smoothest quietest vehicles I've ever been in and driving dynamics steering and brakes are excellent handsome interior as well….resale good on jeeps too 😀
