My brother has a G8 Pontiac with a hopped up V8 (6L) that he drives THE HELL out of.
He is over 300 000km (175 000+ miles), with lots of high speed driving, Manitoba winter driving and lots of gravel roads.
Never been rebuilt, some body rattles, but still goes like STINK and looks great. Very comfortable also.
I refuse to buy another GM product. They killed Saturn.

They also had the Chevy SS which was the same as the Holden Commodore as well.
I owned a G8 for 5 years. Great car but some of the maintenance was painful. Beside the DOD (V8) and timing chain (V6) issues, this car also had suspension issues. GM never tested these cars for cold weather before shipping them to North America. The end result was failed lower control arms, end links, bushings etc. Still a great car that's special. I'm said how many fell into the hands of people who loaded them with ebay parts bin stuff, rode them hard and put them away wet. That's why they end up in junkyards

I recently picked up a 2014 SS with 12,000 miles on it. She’s pretty quick.
I miss my G8 GXP! I bought it new during the Pontiac clearance sale… I didn't lose a dollar in depreciation until I hit around 75k miles. I sold it at 120k… big mistake!
